I’m Nacho Planas, a software engineer and economist from Barcelona.

For as long as I can remember I’ve had an innate curiosity for how the world around me works. That curiosity is what first pulled me into programming.

Alongside my work, a fascination with financial markets started to grow. It led me into stock research and analysis, and into managing an options portfolio, where there’s a real thrill in combining technical skill, economics and market intuition to navigate equities and derivatives.

These days the two meet. I research companies and markets, write up the analysis, keep a public record of every call, and build the tools the work needs, such as optionerd, YieldMaxCalc and WhyTheMove.
